Onegin is a ballet created by John Cranko for the Stuttgart Ballet. It premiered on April 13, 1965 at the Stuttgart National Theater. The ballet is adapted from the novel ‘Eugene Onegin‘ by Alexander Pushkin, music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and arrangements by Kurt-Heinz Stolze. Since then, the ballet has entered performances by the Canadian National Ballet, the American Ballet and the Royal Ballet.
