La Scala in Milan is performing Le Corsaire, arranged by Manuel Legris, a nineteenth century exemplary and one of the most thrilling and gutsy ballet productions of the period.
The expressive dance in 3 demonstrations with preamble and epilog depended on a sonnet by George Gordon Byron The Corsair. The story happens on the bank of Greece and starts in a slave market where ladies are sold. The pasha Seid has a group of concubines for which he needs to purchase the delightful Médora, who, nonetheless, loves Conrad. After the disarray about buy and burglary, freedom and detainment, love wins.
Le Corsaire was the last artful dance piece by the arranger Adolphe Adam. The debut occurred in Paris in 1856. Don’t miss the magnificent ballet Le Corsaire at Teatro alla Scala in Milan and book your tickets now.
